Rachel will soon be three. Tractor is one of her very best friends. She is trying to get him off to a good start  by teaching him to enjoy books as much as she does.

img0101a1.gifTractor.JPGimg0104a1.gif

In Nov. the weather was still a bit too hot for Tractor. He is really glad when Rachel comes over and brings him inside to read to him. Most every day he comes inside around 3 to cool off under the air! As you see he looks pretty miserable by noon! img0113a1.gif

This is SireKingKongBigFoot.jpg Big Foot 150BookFoot.jpg 150 lbs.

About Bigfoot: Below is what I found written on the Robinsons web site. Not only did Bigfoot grow to 150 lbs. but, Jack Robinson told me he was one of, if not the, worlds largest American Bull Dog registered.

Tractor is looking good at 136 lbs. As you see, he is not fat!

img0811a1.gif Big Foot is one of the largest American Bulldogs in the world today. He is WITHOUT ANY DOUBT the largest PREDOMINANTLY standard bred American Bulldog in the world. At eight months and one day he had a vet certified weight of 115 lbs. and at exactly 12 months was 131 lbs. He is about 25 months now and has not been weighed in one year. As you can see from the above vet certified weights one year later he should have no problem going 140 to 150 pounds. I can hear the muttering out there already. "He can't walk and certainly can't run being that big" WRONG!!! He is EXTREMELY FAST AND QUICK, faster and quicker than many smaller dogs. The next thing they are muttering about is that he is just a porch dog and not a real bulldog. WRONG AGAIN!!! When only 8 or 9 months old he began to whip every grown male on the place including a couple of standard grown males that I thought were the worlds toughest. There is always an argument going on as to what constitutes the tough bulldog. Hog catching, schutzhund training, man work etc. are some of the arguable points. But don't you suppose that when two dogs go at each other the toughest is going to win. Let's hope that no one ever fights his dog on purpose but everyone out there that has more than one stud dog and been at it long enough has experienced the fights. Don't misunderstand me, I am not advocating that all american bulldogs be this big, because I am not. I am advocating that many American bulldogs out there need some size and Big Foot is one of the ways to get it.  img0104a1.gif    (Tractor is another way to get the big size.)
AKA big foot (Robinsons King Kong) is 5/8 Standard and 3/8 Johnson with Johnson size and looks. He is out of a scott of Jack Robinsons own breeding and Oakie. Sadly Okie was run over when Big Foot was only 10 weeks old. Oakie is 3/4 Johnson and 1/4 standard. His sire was img0811a1.gifGator Red, the heavy weight pulling champ of the world, who is 1/2 Standard and 1/2 Johnson and out of Rip-n-woody. His dam is Peeler's Delta, 100% Johnson who produced img0811a1.gifPeeler's Bear, the winningest american bulldog, and is a litter mate to Peeler's Georgia. Oakie's weight goes from 125 to 130 lbs.img0104a1.gif

 Tribute to  Tractor....

"Good Bye Old Friend"

What a wonderful responsibility we took on the day we went to Petal, Ms. to pick up our long waited for American Bulldog pup sired by “Big Foot”.  Ed Lloyd had picked out the name, Tractor months before.  That day we were given the pick of the litter. As Ed held all the little dog pups he soon had two of the biggest in his arms. He looked them over very closely then he looked into their eyes. He turned toward me and said, look, this is Tractor! He sounded like he had found a dog he had already met. He was only 6 weeks old and our vet weighted him in the next day at 12 & 1/12 lbs.

Many say denial is the initial response when confronted with a pet's terminal condition or sudden death. I have for some time put this off. It is time for me to write a loving tribute to this special dog. The sharp emotional blow did take us by surprise. Tractor was always healthy, happy and full of life. His vet, Dr.Chris, who had cared for him since he was a 12 lb pup and had watched over him as he grew to a whopping 136lbs.was also taken off guard. Dr.Chris had been watching a lump for years that was on Tractors’ ear. It started growing at a fast rate. Together we decided it would be best to remove it. Leaving it until later would result in a hole being in his ear when being removed. A few days later Tractor died. The test came back positive for cancer a week later. I want to think his passing spared him a long drawn out ordeal with treatments. For what ever reason our big boy is now gone.

As time passes, our distress dissolves and we remember the good times, more than the passing. Funny things come to mind like how silly he looked playing with his toys. His big stuffed rabbit was his favorite. He was so tall he had to bend his knees to fit under the kitchen table. He wanted to lay in the hallway sometimes with feet stright up where we could not pass and would not move! It aint easy stepping over a dog that size! LOL This big boy always wanted to be lifted into the truck when he had to travel. He was just too little. He was the most gentle pet we have ever owned. Being just 4 months older than our granddaughter he was her best friend. Just looking at his size would have kept any intruder at bay. This was good because he was not much for a watch dog he loved everyone. Yet, the day my mother passed he would not let the undertaker in our door to take her away. He grieved her passing and it was only 30 days later that he left. Yes, Tractors death came at a time when our family was grieving from my mothers soon gone passing. Now a year later it is the time to lift up our eyes in thanks to have been given such a treasure as the beautiful boy Tractor. Our hearts feel deeply saddened that we will never again gaze into those soft, trusting, beautiful and even wise brown eyes. We long to reach out our hands again to caress the soft fur on his beloved big head. Already we have remembered him in our dreams of days and times gone by. We have decided to keep his pictures up for just a while longer. Maybe for a long while….

In Loving Memory of a dear friend ….

Tractor Jack Forman

PS We did not get on a waiting list for our new dogs. They are little pound pups. It took two to of them to even try to fill this empty spot in our yard and hearts. The granddaughter calls them Grit and Abby. What are they? Well they are short one way and long the other way. Maybe they have a little Australian shepherd in them or maybe a ….oh well ….They are our new friends.
